Overview
Since 1991, the Ministry of Home Affairs, Singapore, has organised the Governmentware seminar annually to raise awareness on the latest IT security threats. This year’s theme, “Positive Security: Empowering Business Models of the Future”, highlights the need for all players in our infocomm ecosystem to adopt a more forward-looking paradigm in confronting IT security issues. We have traditionally perceived security as an expenditure that erodes our bottom lines and budgets. Such a paradigm needs to be reinvented to keep pace with the dynamic changes in our IT security landscape.
The conference programme aims to encourage participants to embrace IT security as an opportunity to solve critical problems. Participants will be able to acquire a holistic perspective from the programme, which incorporates discussions, case studies and “live” demonstrations on a broad spectrum of issues pertaining to IT security such as:
- Security Issues related to Electronic Identities
- Personal Digital Protection in the New Cyber Universe
- Latest Cryptography and Biometrics
- Critical Infocomm Infrastructure Protection
- Database Security
- Secure Wireless Sensor Devices
- Wireless Security
- Secure Collaboration Framework
- Online Forensics
- DIVA (Dynamic Isolation of Virtualised Applications)
