SANS Institute was established in 1989 as a cooperative research and organisation. SANS is the most trusted, and by far the largest source for world-class information security training and security certification, offering over 70 training courses. GIAC, an affiliate of SANS Institute, is a certification body featuring over 45 hands-on, technical certifications in information security. SANS offers a myriad of free resources to the InfoSec community including consensus projects, research reports, and newsletters; and it operates the Internet's early warning system - the Internet StormCenter. At the heart of SANS are the many security practitioners in varied global organisations, from corporations to universities, working together to help the information security community. SANS has demonstrated a long-term commitment to the development of Singapore’s Cyber Security capabilities, conducting regular training events and summits in Singapore over the past decade. Now, we train nearly eight hundred Singaporeans each year.
