Cyber Threat Landscape & Intelligence

Retired U.S. Army Major General John Davis, VP of Public Sector at Palo Alto Networks, served as one of three Co-Chairs on an international Ransomware Task Force (RTF) sponsored by the Institute for Security and Technology. The RTF was initiated in January 2021 and is composed of more than 60 volunteers from across government, industry, academic and non-profit organizations internationally. On 29 April 2021, the RTF released its report publicly in a virtual event that the U.S. Department of Homeland Security Secretary keynoted. The report can be found at: The report contains 48 recommendations across the categories of Deterrence, Disruption, Preparation and Response, and is a very practical, actionable report. Along with one of the other Co-Chairs, General Davis testified about the RTF report and its recommendations before the House Homeland Cybersecurity Subcommittee of the U.S. Congress on 5 May 2021. Needless to say, ransomware is a top priority
