While digital transformation is on the agenda of many organisations, security policies and sometimes everyday way of working are still heavily reliant on air gapping for cross domain security. Air gapping is believed to be the 'golden standard' of cross domain security but is not an acceptable solution anymore today. The presentation highlights the weaknesses of the 'air gapping security myth' and shows how digital transformation will simply not happen if organizations are not able to go beyond it. Finally, the presentation addresses the role of cross domain solutions as a viable alternative, which is enabling digitalisation while not penalising the system security.
