Maritime Risk - A Real Threat!

20 Oct 2022
Level 3, Room GW3 | Sands Expo and Convention Centre
Industrial Controls Systems (ICS): Vulnerabilities & Resiliency

With the rise of cyber security threats, emerging regulatory guidance has made cyber risk management part of daily business operations. As cyber-attacks move from traditional enterprise-level Information Technology (IT) to Operational Technology (OT) domains, we are beginning to see cyber threats emerge to shipside Operational Technology. That cybersecurity has become an operational risk to vessels is clearly illustrated by the IMO 2021 guidelines. As of now, most companies in the maritime sector have not yet built out cyber-risk assessment and monitoring of ship-critical OT systems. This session will discuss solutions, providing methods to:

  • Identify Known Cyber Threats and problems faced by Maritime.
  • Establish baseline for operating states anomaly detection.
  • Identify events that expose the vessel to risk.
  • Aggregate vulnerabilities to understand internal security gaps and external threats.

Guidance will be provided relevant to the Singapore Code of Cybersecurity Practice, for NIST CSF, and relative to IMO.
