Shimrit is the CTO and Co-Founder at Secret Double Octopus. Shimrit holds an MSc and PhD from the Hebrew University in Computer Science. She was also a postdoctoral researcher both at the Interdisciplinary Center, Hertzelia and later at the Ben Gurion University of the Negev. Her research areas primarily focused on PKI, cryptography, anomaly detection, web attacks, DDoS and intrusion detection and prevention systems. During her PhD, Shimrit was a consultant for Check Point and Marvell Semiconductor, and designed an intrusion detection system product there. The idea behind Secret Double Octopus was designed during Shimrit's post-doc research at Ben Gurion University. In addition to her position at Secret Double Octopus, Shimrit is a senior lecturer at the Software Engineering Department, the Azrieli College of Engineering (JCE). Shimrit also participates and lectures at technology conferences in her specialty areas.
