Human-Centric Cybersecurity: Safeguarding Collaboration and Innovation in Industry 5.0

22 Oct 2025
Level 3, Room GW3 | Sands Expo and Convention Centre
Cybersecurity in the Age of Industry 5.0
Industry 5.0 focuses on human-centric innovation, resilience and sustainability and emphasizes the collaboration between humans and intelligent machines to enhance productivity, quality, and worker welfare. Unlike Industry 4.0 which prioritizes efficiency and automation, Industry 5.0 places the well-being of workers at the center of industrial processes and integrates advanced AI, robotics, and smart technologies.

The increased connectivity, from IoT devices and cobots to AI-driven decision platforms, amplifies the attack surface, creating numerous new entry points for cyber threats. Therefore, this necessitates a holistic cybersecurity strategies that protect large volumes of sensitive data exchanged between humans, machines, and supply chains.

Cybersecurity in Industry 5.0 faces challenges such as ransomware, phishing, IoT device vulnerabilities, DDoS attacks, IP theft and with the integration of AI, also introduces adversarial attacks. Ultimately, human operators must be continuously trained to recognize and respond to cyber risks, for instance in the era of AI, to sensitize to deepfake attacks, to have resilience plans to recover from AI system incidents.

Cybersecurity becomes a strategic imperative in Industry 5.0 to safeguard innovation, trust, and sustainability in increasingly complex industrial ecosystems.
