Promise, Probabilities, or Ponzi: Whither Security In Rationalising AI?

22 Oct 2025
Level 3, Room GW4 | Sands Expo and Convention Centre
Agentic AI and Securing AI
"Even by tech standards, the whirlwind of innovation, projection, and hype surrounding AI is unprecedented.

Funnelled through the lens of cybersecurity and its foundational precepts, the putative balance between potential and pitfall is especially compelling and high stakes.

What is agency to start with? What systemic shocks will follow the compressed evolution of early AI, to prompt, vibe, MCP and beyond?

In the rush to embrace the glamour of the AI age, is pure play cybersecurity a bandwagon that is ageing badly? The tools and efficiencies woven into the internet and cloud eras are being disrupted, and novel concepts of identity and data are forming on the fly; at a basic level, security tools struggle to address the semantic surfaces created through natural language and agents.

At the time of writing, the current state of AI security acquisitions by heavyweight cybersecurity incumbents is a telling indication of the risk / reward posture.

This panel frames the conversation as we delve into exploring this state of hype and happenstance.
