Prior to joining Ensign, Mr Tan Ah Tuan held leadership roles with Singapore’s Defence Science and Technology Agency (DSTA). He was DSTA’s Group Technology Officer, Director Cybersecurity, and Director Infocomm Infrastructure. As the Group Technology Officer, he was responsible for the management of R&D projects, the competency development in emerging technologies, as well as the security of DSTA’s data, systems, and projects. As Director Cybersecurity, he led the development of cyber defence architecture and solutions for various C4IT systems and networks in MINDEF (Ministry of Defence) and the SAF (Singapore Armed Forces). He was instrumental in building up DSTA’s competencies to support the growing demands for cyber solutions in defence.

Ah Tuan was awarded the Defence Technology Prize Individual (Engineering) in 2014 for his contribution to Singapore’s defence. He was also awarded the Public Administration Medal – Silver, and the Public Administration Medal – Bronze.
