Wei Boon is Chief Executive of the Government Technology Agency of Singapore (GovTech), the lead agency driving Singapore’s Smart Nation initiative and public sector digital transformation.
Prior to joining GovTech, Wei Boon served as the Chief Executive of Centre for Strategic Infocomm Technologies (CSIT) at the Ministry of Defence (MINDEF), where he led R&D in infocomm and infosecurity technologies for government agencies to support national security needs. He also held several key positions within MINDEF, including Director of Technical Projects, where he helped deliver critical capabilities for the defence and security sector. In recognition of his contributions, he was awarded the Public Administration Medal (Silver) in 2015.
Wei Boon holds a Master of Information Systems Management (Highest Distinction) from Carnegie Mellon University, USA, and a Bachelor of Information Science from the University of Tsukuba, Japan. In 2022, he completed the Stanford Executive Program.
